Talk on preparing for a Marathon in Mahers Sports - Wed 5th May 6:30pm.....

"The Runners Loft @ Maher's Sports are delighted to announce the second of our Seminars on marathon running to take place in Mahers Sports Oliver Plunkett St on May 5th at 6.30pm. This event is taking place with the Bord Gais Cork City Marathon in mind on June 7th.

The theme for the nights talk will be "Staying on track for the Bord Gais Cork City Marathon", Guest speakers include Donie Walsh ( Former Irish marathon Olympian), Peter Maher (Former Marathon Olympian) and Michael Herlihy ( winner of last years Cork City Marathon 2009).

The seminar will kick off with Michael Herlihy (Winner of last years Bord Gais Cork City Marathon 2009). Michael will focus on last years experience and dealing with the heat on the day. Michael will also speak about using Garmin GPS enabled sports watch and how it aids his training.
Donie Walsh (Former Olympic Marathoner) will speak about his preparations for marathons and experiences throughout the marathon.
Peter Maher ( Former Olympic Marathoner) will speak about the preventing injury.

The free seminar should last approx one hour with a Q& A session at the end.

This is a great opportunity to get advice and tips from great Irish marathon runners and a chance to pick up any needed essentials for your training or race day.

Mahers Sports Official Opening of "The Runners Loft " takes place on Thursday 11^th March @ 6pm at 121 Oliver Plunkett St, Cork

This opening is being performed by Eamonn Coghlan.

A seminar will also take place on the night, " Lets Get Started.. the right way forward" The principles of a safe and solid Marathon Plan. Correct footwear for the long haul.
